Welcome back to yet another review by Vaping BX! I'm happy that you chose to read my humble blog and give me a minute or two of your time. Today we will be taking a look at the Doge Competition RDA clone by Eternity. I purchased this dripper from my favorite local vape shop: Seabreeze Vapor! I will post a link to their FaceBook page so you can take a look at their stock and, maybe if you're in the area or from around here, you can stop by and take a look at their shop. I will be doing a review/interview with them later this week so I will post that as soon as I can. I'm pretty excited about it, let me tell you! They have been a priceless source of info on all things vape for me and hundreds of other people who wanted to quit smoking. So, as always, let's begin!
To start off with, as with all clones, you have to check out the product before you purchase unless you trust the source. One of the things they told me about the Eternity clone was that the tank would be a little loose more often than not. But the one I bought did not have this problem which surprised them maybe a little too much. So, again, be careful when purchasing clones and make sure, I cannot stress this enough, BEFORE you purchase it to verify that it works correctly. Now that we have that out of the way I want to dive right on in!
This is the first RDA I have ever built and, quite honestly, the first build I have ever done on my own. I typically used clearomizers because they are easier to work with: you don't have to charge batteries, you won't have to build coils, and they are less apt to break when dropped. So IMHO this is an easy build RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer). What comes in the box when you first purchase it is:
1x Doge Competition RDA clone
1x Small screwdriver
2x 28 guage coils (just don't use them, trust me on this)
2x Cotton wicks (Same as above, don't use them)
3x Replacement screws for the negative and positive posts
Once you have it opened, you can immediately see that the two negative posts and positive post are higher than other atomizers. Also, they have pre-drilled holes to put the coil leads in and this makes it SO much easier than trying to wrap the lead around the screws. One thing to remember is that this is a dripper. This means that there is no tank for the juice; you will need to have juice on you or somewhere close by which can be a hassle. But then again, there are a lot of people who swear by RDAs so it really is just a matter of personal preference.
Once you have built the coils, wicking is fairly easy as well. How much cotton, how long it should be is all a matter of what you are looking for. One tip I will give is to make sure that you have the top plate (where the posts are connected to the main body) covered by cotton. This will take no time if you do some research on YouTube so don't be discouraged. I will have a link for a video on YouTube at the end of this post so you can take a look at what I mean.
The hits from this thing are phenomenal! I give it a 10 out of 10 for hit and vapor production. If you were to use an e-juice with a ratio of either 70VG-30PG or max VG this thing will make you look like a dry ice machine! But all jokes aside, the Doge RDA clone is one of the best drippers out there if you want to purchase the real deal. I will include a link to the cheapest one I can find at the end of this post as well. One more tip about the juice: if you normally use, say, 12mg nicotine you will want to go down to 10mg for a dripper. RDAs will give you an abnormally hard throat hit if you aren't careful.
In summary, the Doge Competition RDA clone by Eternity is a great buy if you get a good one. I give it a 9 out of 10 for ease of building, a 10 out of 10 for hit and vapor production, and an 8 out of 10 for product quality. If you want an RDA, or want to get started into cloud chasing, I would recommend this for a first time dripper. Thanks for reading and keep on vaping!
